What happens at a first consultation
A first consultation covers your history, a physical examination, and a review of any imaging you already have. You will leave understanding what is wrong, what the options are, including the option of doing nothing for now, and what each one involves. There is no pressure to decide anything on the day.
Please bring any imaging, previous reports and a list of your current medication, and write down your questions.
Surgery only where it is the right answer
Conditions of the bones, joints and soft tissues are assessed and explained first. Surgery is discussed only where it is genuinely the right answer for you.
Important. All surgery carries risk. Suitability and expected results are discussed individually at consultation, and outcomes vary. This page is general information and is not medical advice. In an emergency, call 112 or go to your nearest emergency department.
